About me

As an experienced editor and writer, I’ve been helping people with their writing needs since the early 2000s. I worked as a copywriter for over ten years, providing written content for websites, blogs, and articles. I also wrote freelance for a number of online magazines.

As a member of the Chartered Institute of Editors and Proofreaders and undertook some professional development courses to further enhance my editing skills.

During this time, I also authored and published five books (four of which are a series).

Since authoring my books, I have gone on to teach creative writing to children and adults, provide mentoring for new writers, and editing for fiction authors.

As well as proofreading and copyediting experience, I am also an experienced developmental editor. My services include in-depth developmental editing, copyediting for clarity and style, and comprehensive proofreading.

A developmental edit focuses on structure, plot, and character development, while copyediting addresses grammar, consistency, and style, and proofreading ensures the final draft is error-free.

You can think of editing as a three-tier process: starting with a developmental edit, then a copy edit, and finally, a proofread.

Although my books cover the middle-grade age range (7/8-12/13), I do not work exclusively on books for children and young adults.

As an editor, and more specifically, a developmental editor, the process is the same whether you write for children or adults, and I have experience in all areas.

On a personal level, I love nature, and my passion is nature writing and poetry. As such, I provide creative writing classes for adults, in a woodland setting, on a regular basis (seasonally).
